Protesters have rallied across Morocco to advocate for governmental reforms.

Morocco’s youth-led “Gen Z 212” movement resumed nationwide protests demanding the dismissal of Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch and urgent reforms to combat corruption and improve public services. The demonstrations, organized via social media platforms like TikTok and Discord, were sparked by public outrage over poor healthcare, especially after eight maternal deaths in Agadir. Protesters criticized government spending on infrastructure for the 2030 FIFA World Cup while neglecting essential services like health and education. As King Mohammed VI prepares to address parliament, many young activists hope he will respond to their demands for justice, accountability, and systemic change.
