Saudi Arabian air defenses intercepted six ballistic missiles fired by Yemen-based Houthi militants toward the Red Sea port of Yanbu and the southwestern city of Taif. The Houthi rebels also claimed responsibility for targeting Saudi Aramco facilities in Yanbu. Yanbu is considered a “sensitive target” by Saudi Arabia. The Houthis also targeted military infrastructure in Jazan using ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones. Saudi civil defense authorities issued air-raid warnings across major western hubs, including Mecca, Jeddah, and Tabuk, before announcing that the direct threat had subsided. The attacks come as Saudi Arabia attempts to restore its East-West oil pipeline following earlier drone strikes, causing the crude oil prices to rocket.
