South Africa says its peacekeeping troops are withdrawing from rebel-held eastern Congo

South Africa is withdrawing peacekeepers from the eastern Congo.

South Africa has annouced that it will withdraw its peacekeeping forces from the rebel-controlled eastern Congo. Other nations have also withdrawn their peacekeeping forces from the region. Congo government forces have also withdrawn from the region after being defeated by M23 rebel forces.
