RSF attacks kill civilians in ongoing Darfur campaign

Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces killed at least 13 people, mostly women and children, in a road attack near el-Fasher on Sunday. The paramilitary group also shelled a hospital the previous day, wounding seven people, including a child and a pregnant woman. These attacks represent part of RSF’s broader campaign to capture el-Fasher, the military’s last stronghold in Darfur, where the group has documented at least 89 civilian deaths this month. The violence continues Sudan’s civil war that began in April 2023 and has killed tens of thousands while displacing over 14 million people.
