Taiwan’s President has annouced that the new defense budget will see an increase which will bring military spending to 3% of GDP. Taiwan plans to modernize its forces and replace ageing equipment. The move comes as US officials have critized the country’s military prepardness and China has increased its offensive posture in the region.
