Syrian officials have begun the process of drafting a new consitution.

The HTS backed government in Damascus has begun the process of drafting a new constitution. An initial committee is working to begin collecting ideas from key groups and leaders and will propose next steps to the interim government. The HTS backed government has indicated that the Kurdish SDF will not be involved in this process. The SDF has thus far refused to join the interim government and is engaged in skirmishes with Turkish backed forces.
