Trinidad and Tobago’s Parliament extended its state of emergency by three months after the attorney general revealed prison guards and attorneys were helping gang leaders plot assassinations and kidnappings.
High-risk inmates moved to military bases still faced interference, including thwarted drone infiltrations.
Police have since arrested more than 340 suspects and launched over 800 operations under the emergency measures.
