Turkey has called on the various factions within Syria to open negotiations.

The Turkish government has called on the various sides of the Syrian Civil War to restart negotiations. The calls comes as opposition forces across the country have made steady advances against government positions. Turkey has long sought to bring an end to the conflict due to the belief that a stable Syria will be able to blunt Kurdish ambitions for an independent state. Turkey also wants to bring an end to the refugee crisis which has seen 3 million Syrians seek refuge in Turkey.
