Last week, clashes broke out in Amsterdam between Israeli football fans and pro-Palestinians. The city’s council is holding an emergency debate over the recent violence, which was branded as anti-Semitic. However, reports have also noted provocation and violence by visiting Israeli fans. Additional arrests are continuing to be made over the clashes. Unrest is continuing in Amsterdam, and on Monday dozens gathered to claim solidarity with Palestinians. These youths smashed windows and set fire to a tram, but riot police quickly cleared the area. Thus far, over 60 people have been arrested in connection with the violence. At least five people were injured in the confrontation. In the emergency debate, officials will present an overview of events to the council.
