The US has announced it will return millions of dollars of seized assets to Nigerian authorities.

The US has announced that it will be returning $52.8 million dollars in seized assets to Nigerian authorities. These assets were seized after an investigation into the country’s former Oil Minister found that she had stolen millions of dollars of public funds. Nigerian authorities have been granted Court orders to seize the former Minister’s assets. The funds raised from selling these assets will go towards various existing rural support programs.
