Yemen’s armed forces reported that 2,316 Houthi fighters were killed or wounded during a surge of operations conducted over a 72-hour period. The government military announced it had carried out 756 strikes and military operations against Houthi targets across the country. The strikes killed four Iranian specialists who were operating and launching drones and missiles in Yemen’s Taiz province. The reported casualties follow sharp escalations in ground and air fighting between Yemeni government forces and the Iran-backed militia, particularly around the Taiz region.
