Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi movement issued urgent public warnings demanding the immediate evacuation of Aden International Airport, citing the alleged presence of a Saudi military cargo aircraft transporting weapons. Following the threats, explosions were reported near the facility, prompting transport ministry officials to halt air traffic at the Aden Airport. The attack underscores intensifying kinetic friction against the internationally recognized, Saudi-backed government based in Aden amid wider regional conflict spillovers. The airport strike compounds rising hostilities across the Arabian Peninsula, occurring parallel to recent Houthi missile provocations targeting Saudi infrastructure and heightened maritime security risks near critical trade chokepoints like the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
