Houthis to target ships trading with Israeli ports

Yemen’s Houthi rebels said they will target merchant vessels of any company trading with Israeli ports as a new operational phase against Israel. They began a Red Sea campaign by disrupting shipping and sinking two bulk carriers earlier this month, causing crew deaths and captives. The group called on countries to pressure Israel to end its blockade of the West Bank. From November 2023 to December 2024, the rebels struck over 100 ships with missiles and drones, pausing only during a brief ceasefire.
