Central African Republic seeks Russian support on energy

The Central African Republic has requested Russian help in addressing energy shortages.

The Central African Republic’s President Faustin-Archange Touadéra met Vladimir Putin in Moscow to thank Russia for security backing and request help addressing severe energy shortages. He noted that Russian support enabled his re-election and that donated grain and fuel had helped mitigate ongoing crises. Putin said the two countries see strong prospects for expanding ties in energy, agriculture, and infrastructure.
