French government faces a no confidence vote after forcing the approval of the budget.
The French government faces a no confidence vote later this week after forcing through the budget using Article 49.3 of the French Constitution. Article 49.3 allows for legislation to enacted without a parliamentary vote but allows for no confidence votes to be scheduled in response. The government forced through the budget as they were unable to secure a majority of votes for the proposed budget which calls for deep sending cuts and raising taxes. Both the left and right wing parties moved for no confidence votes to be conducted.
