Germany’s economy has continued stagnate.

New economic data shows that Germany’s economy continued to stagnate in 2024 with exports and consumer spending both decreasing. However, disposable income did rise some in 2024. Germany officials blamed the stagnation on increased trade competition from China and uncertainty over US policy. The economic slow down has divided the major political parties as contention over government spending levels divided left leaning and center parties.
