Syria has signed an agreement to build an international submarine cable.
Syria has signed an agreement with the Barcelona-based Medusa Submarine Cable System to land its first international undersea cable, aiming to significantly improve its poor internet infrastructure. The cable will connect Syria to 12 countries across North Africa and Southern Europe, forming a digital corridor between the Mediterranean, Atlantic Ocean, and Red Sea. This move is part of Syria’s broader $300 million plan to modernize its fiber-optic network.
