Immunization plateau leaves 14 million infants without vital vaccines.
In 2024, first-dose DTP coverage held at 89% and full series at 85%, yet over 14 million children received no routine vaccines. Nine countries accounted for more than half of those zero-dose children, while measles immunisation stalled at just 76%, far below the 95% needed for herd immunity. Experts warn that deep cuts in international aid, conflict-driven disruptions, and rising misinformation threaten to reverse decades of progress and urge renewed funding and targeted outreach to close widening coverage gaps.
