Syria’s opposition forces have begun to discuss the formation of a new government. The forces are in talks to take formal control of Syria after capturing large amounts of territory including Damascus. Ahmed al-Sharaa, the opposition leader, met with outgoing Prime Minister Mohammed al-Jalali to discuss the transition. Al-Jalali has agreed to peacefully transfer power. The new government will likely prioritize consolidating their control over new territory gains.
