Arab officials are now coming together to form an alternative plan for Gaza where Arab countries would oversee its reconstruction. The coordination comes after President Trump suggested Gazans be expelled from the territory, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio framing the statement as: Come up with a better plan, or do it our way. Representatives of Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates are trying to form a plan where Gazans would stay in place, preserving the possibility of a Palestinian state. Envoys from the five countries are set to work on the details on Friday in Saudi Arabia, and will meet again at a bigger summit in Cairo on March 4.
