Australia has discovered the recent surge in anti-Semitic crime in the country to be the cause of foreign actors paying local criminals to commit anti-Semitic attacks. On Wednesday, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said that detectives investigating the attacks had concluded that foreign actors were involved. Ongoing inquiries hope to identify “who is paying those criminals, where those people are, whether they are in Australia or offshore, and what their motivation is.” Since the war between Israel and Hamas began Australia has seen an increase in anti-Semitic crime, such as the arson of a synagogue in Melbourne in December.
