The Biden administration has agreed to supply Ukraine with U.S. anti-personnel mines. These mines will aid Ukraine against Russian attacks. This is the latest move by the U.S. in escalating tensions with Russia. The U.S. recently gave approval for Ukraine to fire U.S. long-range missiles into Russia. In response, Russia decided to lower its threshold for the use of nuclear weapons. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that the move is in response to Russia’s increasing use of foot soldiers in their assaults. Russia’s change in tactics has prompted a need for Ukraine to adapt and slow down Russian advances.
