U.S. President Joe Biden has condemned Russia’s Christmas day attack on Ukraine’s power grid. He called the attack “outrageous” and has promised a “surge of weapons deliveries to Ukraine.” On Christmas day, Russia launched over 170 missiles and drones on Ukraine, targeting the country’s energy infrastructure. An energy worker was killed and Ukrainians had to take shelter in metro stations. The attack was the 13th large-scale strike on Ukraine’s energy system this year. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated, “Putin deliberately chose Christmas to attack. What could be more inhumane?”
