The West Coast of the U.S. has been hit by a “bomb cyclone,” killing at least two people. Hundreds of thousands have lost power in the area. This powerful storm is called a bomb cyclone because of how rapidly it intensifies in a short period of time. The storm brough extreme rainfall and winds to the West Coast, hitting Oregon, Washington, and California. It is expected that these harsh conditions will continue through Friday. The National Weather Service (NWS) predicted that multiple powerful storm systems would impact the coast this week. On Friday, surges of rain may reach up to 20 inches.
