Rodrigo Paz won Bolivia’s presidential election on Sunday.
Rodrigo Paz, a centrist senator, won Bolivia’s presidential election on Sunday with 54% of the vote. Paz and his popular running mate, Edman Lara, gained support from rural and working-class voters who were unhappy with the Movement Towards Socialism party. Paz plans to end Bolivia’s fixed exchange rate, but says he will take a gradual approach to avoid a sharp recession or inflation.
