China has imposed sanctions on 13 U.S. defense firms in response to recent U.S. arms sales to Taiwan. Sanctions were additionally enacted on several American defense industry executives. Drone makers RapidFlight and BRINC Drones are included in the sanctions. These sanctions forbid these companies from doing business in China and the executives from traveling there. They typically don’t have much effect, as U.S. defense companies are usually already barred from doing business in China. The sanctions are therefore largely symbolic and likely a warning to these defense firms against doing business with Taiwan.
