On Wednesday, an Azerbaijan Airlines plane tried to make an emergency landing in Kazakhstan and crashed, killing dozens. The Kazakh authorities said that at least 29 people survived the crash. The jet was carrying 62 passengers and five crew members when it went down in Kazakhstan. Many of the survivors were hospitalized with various injuries. Russia’s state aviation authority stated that the plane attempted to make an emergency landing after hitting a flock of birds. An investigation has been opened into the causes of the crash.
