On Sunday, the amount of humanitarian aid entering Gaza increased dramatically. According to United Nations officials, over 630 trucks entered the strip on the first day of the ceasefire. This is the highest number since the war began more than 15 months ago. U.N. Relief Chief Tom Fletcher said that over 300 of the trucks went to northern Gaza, where aid has been the most scarce throughout the conflict. Fewer than 100 trucks per day had been entering the enclave during the war. No attempts at stealing or looting the aid were reported on Sunday or Monday. The World Food Program hopes to deliver at least 150 truckloads of food and other supplies into Gaza every day.
