France’s government survives a no-confidence vote and a budget is finally adopted

France has adopted a budget.

The French government has adopted a budget after several fractious debates. The Prime Minister was forced to use special constitutional powers to force the budget through. The far left and far right parties opposed the move, but enough members voted in favor to overcome the opposition. The budget aims to reduce the country’s deficit and allow the government to focus on other policy matters.
