Macron has vowed to remain in office and appoint a new prime minister.
In an address to the nation, Macron said he would not step down as President and would name a new prime minister. This comes after the french National Assembly passed a vote of no confidence in the government and forced the prime minister to resign. The government is set to shutdown on January 1st if a budget is not approved. New legislative elections can not be called until July of next year at the earliest.
