Earlier this week, Hamas agreed to a ceasefire proposal made by the United States. However, American officials have rejected the claim that the U.S. proposed the ceasefire terms, and Israeli officials have denied that the proposal was from the U.S. as well. The conflicting reports come while Israeli forces continue to bomb Gaza and restrict aid from entering the area. Hamas and the U.S. Middle East envoy had reportedly agreed to the drafted deal at a meeting in Doha. The agreement had included a 60-day ceasefire and a multi-stage release of 10 living captives.
