The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued new arrest warrants related to ongoing war crimes in the Middle East on Thursday. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant were accused of crimes against humanity and war crimes. The ICC stated that the two officials knowingly deprived civilians in Gaza of aid. Netanyahu’s office rejected the accusations. The court also issued an arrest warrant for Mohammed al-Masri, also known as Mohammad Deif, who is Hamas’s military commander. Deif is accused of various crimes against humanity including murder, torture, and rape. While Israel claims to have killed Deif in July, the ICC still decided to proceed with the arrest warrant.
