Iran key services shut as rial plunges amid energy crisis, regional tension 

Iran is facing major disruptions across the country as key services are impacted. Tens of millions of Iranians are being affected by power cuts, fuel shortages, and partial shutdowns. Authorities are shutting down these services in response to an exacerbating energy and currency crisis with the increasing tensions in the region. Many government offices, schools, banks, and businesses in major provinces and in Tehran have been closed this week. With temperatures dropping below zero, the worsening fuel and power shortages have made it unsafe for these businesses to operate.
