Iran Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that Iran will not engage in direct talks with the U.S. on its nuclear program. The announcement comes just a day after the U.S. enacted new sanctions against Iran’s oil industry, which is the country’s main source of income. Trump has restored his maximum pressure campaign on Iran, which includes efforts to halt the country’s oil exports. Araghchi said that, “There is no possibility of direct negotiations with the US as long as maximum pressure is being applied in this way.”
