According to media reports and a monitoring group, the Israeli military launched attacks on Syria’s southern province of Deraa on Monday night. Deraa is around 60 miles south of Syria’s capital, Damascus. There have not yet been any casualties reported. The air strikes targeted army outposts, weapons depots, radars, tanks, and artillery from the al-Assad regime army. Israel claimed that Syrian rebel groups were trying to take over these military assets. Israel’s military has carried out 21 documented attacks thus far this year on Syria.
