On Monday, North Korea fired multiple ballistic missiles while South Korea conducted military drills with the United States. This is North Korea’s fifth launch event of the year. The U.S. and South Korea drills are planned to last until March 20, drawing condemnation from North Korea. North Korea has stated that these exercises are a “dangerous provocative act” and increase the risk of military conflict. The drills mark the first large-scale joint exercise since President Trump’s term began.
