On Tuesday night, the Pakistani military conducted air raids in Afghanistan. The airstrikes targeted the hideouts of the Pakistan Taliban (TTP). This is the first cross-border strike inside of Afghanistan since March, and could potentially spark retaliation by the Taliban. The Taliban confirmed the attack but stated that civilians were targeted and over 46 people were killed. Pakistan has consistently accused the Afghan government of harbouring the TTP, who carries out cross-border attacks against Pakistani security forces.
