President Marcos has attempted to distance himself from a pending impeachment trial of the Vice President.

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has said that legislators would be wasting their time by impeaching Vice President Sara Duterte. Duterte is facing several different investigations and legislators are preparing to begin an impeachment trial. Tensions between Marcos and Duterte has bee growing since their elections with Duterte recently threatening to have Marcos assassinated.
