Russia Plotted to Put Incendiary Devices on Cargo Planes, Officials Say

Western officials are currently investigating a Russian plot to plant incendiary devices on cargo planes. There is evidence that Russia is plotting to place such devices on cargo planes in Europe. The country performed a test run over the summer which set off fires at British and German shipping hubs. Intelligence officials do not yet know the exact goal of the plot. They theorize that it could be simply to set fires at these shipping hubs as a warning. However, it could be a sign of a larger plot to destroy planes on American runways, blow up aircraft midair, or set off bombs at U.S. warehouses. These officials stated that Putin is trying to retaliate against the West for its support of Ukraine. Four suspects were arrested last month for planting the incendiary devices.
