South Korea’s opposition party has submitted an impeachment bill against South Korea’s President Yoon Suk-yeol. The impeachment motion comes after Yoon’s declaration of martial law. The opposition party had threatened to begin the process if Yoon did not step down after ordering martial law. After Yoon declared martial law on Tuesday, protests broke out and lawmakers voted to overturn the declaration. The Democratic Party, the main opposition party in South Korea, stated that Yoon’s actions were “a clear violation of the constitution.” The impeachment motion will be put up for a vote on Friday or Saturday.
