Spain, Portugal, and parts of southwestern France were hit with widespread power outages on Monday, halting public transport, traffic, and flights. Residents were unable to perform basic functions, such as withdrawing cash from an ATM, as authorities worked to restore the electric grid. The cause of the outages are not yet known, but authorities have stated that there are no signs that a cyberattack was behind the incident.
