A week-long standoff at a Ukrainian agency is beginning to disrupt arms contracts. The standoff between Ukraine’s defense minister and the official overseeing weapons procurement began over a week ago, and remains unsolved. Over 80 defense companies “are unable to receive payment for completed orders and sign new contracts.” These companies accounted for around a third of last year’s supplies to Ukraine’s army. While the standoff is not likely to immediately affect arms supplies, if it persists, it could jeopardize future supplies to the struggling army.
