United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer has offered to send British troops to Ukraine. Starmer made the announcement on Sunday, offering U.S. peacekeeping troops to help guarantee Ukraine’s security as part of any peace deal. He and other European leaders are attempting to coordinate responses to Trump’s discussions with Russia about ending the war in Ukraine. This is the first time that Starmer has explicitly stated his willingness to send British troops to Ukraine. When French President Emmanuel Macron had proposed sending Western peacekeeping troops to Ukraine last year, the suggestion was dismissed by other members of NATO.
