Taiwan has raised a high alert in response to China’s deployment of its largest fleet of ships in decades. China deployed naval and Coast Guard ships without prior notice. Tensions are rising in the region due to the U.S.’s continuous support for Taiwan. On Tuesday, China conducted its largest maritime operations in nearly decades near the South China Sea. Taiwanese defense officials believe that China is trying to demonstrate its ability to block allies from aiding Taiwan.
