Taiwan Says It Suspects a Chinese-Linked Ship Damaged an Undersea Internet Cable 

Taiwan is currently investigating damage to an undersea cable which connects Taiwan to the Internet. The country suspects that a ship linked to China may have been behind the cable damage. The attack comes as apparent acts of sabotage against undersea communication cables has risen. Two fiber-optic cables under the Baltic Sea were severed in November. There was no major outage in Taiwan after the incident as communications were quickly rerouted. However, this is a reminder that Taiwan’s critical infrastructure is very vulnerable to damage from China.
