Thousands Evacuate in Canada as Multiple Wildfires Rage

Officials have declared a state of emergency in Canada where several out-of-control fires are raging, prompting thousands of people to evacuate the province of Manitoba. This is the largest evacuation of the region in recent time, and residents are being evacuated towards urban areas like Winnipeg for temporary housing and emergency assistance. The military has been called in to assist with evacuations due to the large scale. This wildfire season has proven deadly in Manitoba, and earlier this month two people were killed. 22 fires are burning in the province as of Wednesday.
