On Monday, President Trump said that he may cut off aid to Jordan and Egypt if they refuse to permanently take in most Palestinians from Gaza. This greatly increases pressure on key U.S. allies in the region to support Trump’s proposal to relocate Gazans and redevelop the Gaza Strip. Trump also stated that if Hamas does not release the remaining Israeli hostages on Saturday, the ceasefire should be terminated. Thus far, Jordan and Egypt have refused suggestions that Palestinians be relocated to their countries.
