U.S. President Trump will cut off U.S. engagement with the United Nations Human Rights Council and extend a funding band on UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees. Trump has already withdrawn the U.S. from the Paris climate agreement and the World Health Organization (WHO) since taking office. The withdrawal from UNRWA coincides with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to the White House. The two officials are expected to additionally discuss the next phase of the ceasefire deal, with Trump stating that there were “no guarantees” the deal would hold.
