On Tuesday, Ukraine and U.S. officials met in Saudi Arabia to kick off talks between the two countries on ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict. This is the first high-level meeting between the two countries since the recent Oval Office shouting match. Currently, Russia, Ukraine, and the U.S. all have differing ideas as to what a ceasefire would look like. Ukraine wants security guarantees before laying down arms, while the U.S. is pressing for an immediate ceasefire and Russia wants concessions of its own.
