Ukraine has shut down a transnational pipeline from Russia to Europe that traveled through Ukrainian territory. Ukraine and Russia had established an agreement prior to the war that allowed natural gas to travel across the country. However, Ukraine has now refused to renew the agreement due to the ongoing conflict between the two countries. Ukraine‘s decision is part of a broader campaign by Ukraine and its Western allies to undermine Russia’s funding of its war effort. The pipeline was Russia’s last major gas corridor to Europe.
